too play an important role to enhance its overall look. Lets find out how to
select the right footwear for this ethnic outfit.
Traditional footwear for salwar kameez include pure leather or synthetic material Kolhapuri chappals (with or without tassles), Mojaris, Khussa, Jutis etc. which can be plain or heavily embellished. They are usually in neutral beige color, but various colored version also available that can be matched with your salwar kameez. While these ethnic footwear are flat to give feet a comfort feel, you can also get heeled versions.
You can get them in gold and silver versions with various embellishments that give them a rich stylish look. They can be worn both with salwar kameez and churidar kurta both.
Stylish Footwear
A wide range of stylish footwear is available in the market
that goes really well with various patterns of salwar kameez. You can wear
virtually anything from flats to heels including ballet shoes, pump shoes,
sandals, sling backs, strappy sandals, gladiators, wedges, or even
comfort sandals (like Dr. Scholl's or similar). However, do keep the occasion
and your outfit in mind.
• With churidars don't wear too much high heels, because the heels will be extremely visible and as your legs are already encased in churidars it may look as if you are trying to look taller!
• When you wear a salwar, part of the heel will go under the salwar, so it can give you height, without making it seem that you are trying too hard.
• Comfort sandals, flip flops and other casual footwear should only be worn with casual daily wear suits.
• For special occasions, wear footwear, which does justice to your outfit.
• Avoid wearing heavy sports shoes, ankle boots or high lace-up sandals with this ethnic outfit.
